Oral health can affect the body and mind in a variety of ways. Physical and mental disease can also make self-care more difficult.

Click here to look at some of the common oral health diseases.

Watch out for red, inflamed, or bleeding gums, and discoloured or decayed teeth. Halitosis (bad breath) can be caused by poor oral hygiene habits. Factors for bad breath in children include dehydration, mouth breathing, medical conditions (e.g. acid reflux, enlarged tonsils), gum disease, and tooth decay. Read More »

New School Readiness Courses

Family Learning have set up two School Readiness courses which will be running at Coalville and Loughborough libraries in June.

It is a 3 week course for parents and children together called 'Active Mind and Body'. The focus will be: physical development, communication and social and emotional development. As a follow on, there will also be the opportunity for parents to take a School Readiness Challenge Pack to complete with their children over the summer holidays. The challenge pack has activities based around routines, getting dressed, selfcare, etc. Read More »
