Home Start

Home Start is a charity operating across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland supporting families and children in their earliest years.

They support families who have at least one child under five who may be dealing with issues such as:

  • Social isolation
  • Domestic abuse
  • Lone parenting
  • Poverty
  • Illness and disability
  • Post-natal illness
  • Coping with several children under the age of 5

They can provide emotional support, practical help, playing, listening and reading with children, help with establishing routines and information and links to health, educational services and local groups.

A referral can be made to Home Start by anyone working in the social care and child care sectors, for example a health visitor, or families can make referrals themselves.
