What evidence might the Healthy Tots Team expect to see
- The settings vision/mission statement includes emotional health and wellbeing messages
- Settings can show evidence of how they communicate children's progress to their parents, this may be observed in the setting or through communication diaries
- Staff and children can give examples of how they allocate personalised space to the children e.g. named coat pegs which the children have personalised themselves
- Children can describe their daily routine they can state the things that usually happen for example how and when they can play outside
- Siblings are seen to interact with each other and the setting can state how they facilitate this
- Children are seen with comforters and staff can explain their policy regarding the use of dummies
- There is evidence that children feel safe and happy in the setting – this may be statements from parents including the Leicestershire Healthy tots Survey.
- Staff can describe things they have deliberately put in place in order to create an emotionally healthy environment
- Positive behaviour and respect for the setting are observed and reinforced through behaviour policies
- Vulnerable children are clearly identified and staff can state additional support networks that have been established to meet these needs
